What is Recycled Cotton?

Recycled cotton is made from waste cotton, industrial offcuts and textile companies that recycle and reuse cloth and yarn ends. Converting cotton fabrics into cotton fibers for reuse in textile products.

Why should we use it?

With the improvement of the economic level, the discharge of a large amount of textile waste is a manifestation of environmental pollution in the textile industry, which not only wastes resources, but also causes irreparable pollution. The treatment methods used in the past are piling, landfill, incineration and other methods, resulting in land, water, air and gas pollution. This makes us need to develop some materials to replace.

There is growing evidence that cotton biodegrades in most natural environments. Cotton microfibers readily biodegrade under wastewater, soil, freshwater and seawater conditions, while polyester microfibers persist and do not readily degrade. How long it takes for cotton to biodegrade depends on the conditions of the surrounding environment – including factors such as temperature and the presence of microorganisms.

Recycled Cotton prevents additional textile waste and requires far fewer resources than conventional or organic cotton. This makes it a great sustainable option. The quality of cotton may be lower than the new cotton by recycling from old garments or textile leftovers.
